Engine 69-9’s cab caught fire at the Good Will Fire Company Station 69A around 8:40 p.m., according to Pottstown Fire Department.
The truck's cab was "fully involved," but firefighters were able to keep the blaze contained to the vehicle and extinguish the flames quickly, officials said. Two ambulances, a fire rehab unit, the Pottstown Fire Police response unit, and the station's engine bays suffered smoke damage.
One firefighter was taken to Pottstown Tower Health Hospital for smoke inhalation, authorities said.
Fire Chief Frank Hand and the Pottstown Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause of the blaze.
Phillies Fire Company, North End Fire Company, the Sanatoga Fire Company, and Ringing Hill Fire Company Fire Police also assisted at the scene.
"We would like to thank all the members of the public and our fellow firefighters that have reached out via phone, text and social media," PFD said.
"Our ambulance service and our ability to respond to 911 calls for assistance remain intact."
